On Saturday, 9/7 we cruised to Cherry Pockets in Lake Wales. We met @ Bob Evans in Temple Terrace. The cruise was a bit long (1 hr 45 minutes) but we had fun. No trouble with the trip until we hit Bartow. Apparently, the state decided to put some barriers up on Hwy 98 where we come out from Lyle Pkwy and couldn't cross over. Why didn't you tell me that in advance! All I know is that the barriers weren't there 1 year ago. Anyway this is where we had to make a right and then a quick left. Some missed the left due to traffic. Some went further south on 98 due to more traffic and had to u-turn it. 

Within 10 minutes we had everyone on Old Bartow Eagle Lake Road (so I thought). By the time we hit Hwy 17, I got a call for a pee break. Geez, did you know old people can't hold it? We stopped at an abandoned gas station with a restaurant right across the street At 6th Ave and Hwy 17/south 5the street/ Elouise street. I'm glad I know the area (if you believe that I have some land to sell you when the tide goes out).  After a 10-minute stop we only lost 2 cars with 3 people (Warren, Theresa and Mike were the ones we lost). Anyway, they were smart enough to put Cherry Pockets address in their GPS and arrived about 5 minutes before we did.
