On a beautiful and clear Saturday morning, the SNF Vettes met at Bob Evans                     restaurant.  After a few minutes, John H. held a driver's meeting and reviewed the           directions.  The group then headed out for an hour-long back roads cruise to Keel           Farms. The food was great, and the company was even better.

I BET YOU DID NOT KNOW!

  • The 1980s–1990s (Nursery to Blueberries): Joe Keel initially ran a general tree and plant nursery before transitioning to cultivating blueberry plants as a primary crop.

  • 2003 (Birth of the Winery): With leftover end-of-crop blueberries, Joe brewed his first 10 gallons of blueberry wine in his family kitchen, launching Keel & Curley Winery.

  • 2013 (Cider & Craft Beer): The operation expanded production to include locally inspired craft beers and ciders under Keel Farms Agrarian Ale + Cider.

  • 2018–2019 (Next Generation Leadership): Joe Keel retired, and his son Clay Keel (along with his wife, Carmen) took over operations, focusing heavily on sustainability, community, and a family-friendly atmosphere.

  • Today: The property has grown into a 35-acre working farm, restaurant, and agritourism destination featuring a peach orchard, blueberry fields, pasture-raised animals, and statewide grocery distribution for their signature wines.
