PECK'S OLD PORT COVE RESTAURANT

7-15-2023 PECK'S OLD PORT COVE RESTAURANT
On Saturday morning about 10 a.m., we met at the parking lot behind McDonalds near the intersection of SR 54 and US 41 to begin a nice long cruise to Crystal River for lunch at Peck's Old Port Cove restaurant. That restaurant is about as far west as you can go in this part of Florida - way out over a series of little islands to the Gulf of Mexico. We had 10 Vettes and 16 members to start our trip. We took a really scenic back roads trip in good cruising weather and managed to stay in an unbroken line for much of the trip. Those 10 Vettes made a beautiful sight as we weaved and wove through the countryside. Two other members and four friends of one of our members joined us at the restaurant so we had a total of 22 Vette lovers enjoying a delicious seafood dinner in a perfect setting for seafood. The food was delicious and everyone seemed to get their fill. I suspect we'll be making this cruise again at some point in the future. Some of the members cruised back together on a very winding, beautiful canopy road. We would have gone to the restaurant on that road but somehow missed a turn and took an alternate route. Even so, we had a fabulous cruise. If you weren't with us, you really missed a good time.
