Music - Hopi Indian Buffalo Dance

About 10:15 Saturday morning, October 4th, we met in the Big Lots parking lot near the intersection of SR 54 and Highway 41 in Land o' Lakes for a cruise to Dade City.  We were going to the popular Kokopelli Restaurant there and the monthly car show in Dade City.

We had a great day with beautiful Florida weather.  Nine Vettes and seventeen members showed up for the cruise.  John H (leading the cruise) took us through some beautiful winding, hilly, and canopied backroads.  FABULOUS ride !  Perfect for a string of Corvettes.

We weren't able to all sit at the same table but we were at least all together in the same section of the restaurant.  The food made the trip well worth while and after eating, we walked it off by strolling around the Dade City town square checking out all the "cool" cars on display - old vintage cars, customized cars, exotic cars, and muscle cars.  For the car show, every 1st Saturday of the month, Dade City blocks off the roads around the old courthouse for pedestrian use only.

After touring the Dade City car show, we went our own way home.  A great way to spend a Saturday.

Kokopelli

Did you think Kokopelli's was an Italian restaurant?  Most of us, probably did.  But, Kokopelli is actually Native American - Hopi Indian to be precise.

Click the 2 Kokopelli buttons below to learn more about its history.

After eating we worked off the calories by strolling the streets around the Dade City courthouse to see all the cars in the car show.

We have an artist in our group - Lloyd J.  Some of his work was on exhibit in one of the Dade City art galleries, the Out of Our Hands gallery

Lloyd's work - the round design from metal.  The light on it did crazy things as you walked past it.  Pretty amazing.
